Riverdale: Chapter Nine: La Grande Illusion Photos

Earlier tonight, The CW revealed the synopsis for the upcoming ninth episode of Riverdale's first season, 'La Grande Illusion'. And now there are a whole batch of photos to go along with it.

The photos show a team up between Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) and Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), including a trip in the snow to the Blossom family's maple syrup harvesting (yes, you read that right). It appears that Archie is attending the event under particular motivations, as Cheryl gifts him with a brand new guitar.

Elsewhere, the photos show the return of Ethel Muggs (Stranger Things' Shannon Purser), who is presumably the classmate that Veronica (Camila Mendes) is 'befriending.' But something with Veronica's situation leaves her distraught, with Betty (Lili Reinhart) running to her aid in the locker room.

ULTERIOR MOTIVES — Archie (KJ Apa) reluctantly agrees to escort Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) to her family's official start of maple syrup tapping because he gets an offer that could help his future. Archie starts to become skeptical of the real reason the Blossoms are so eager to help him, however he gets some helpful information for Betty (Lili Reinhart) about her sister.

Veronica (Camila Mendes) is trying to be nice, and unbeknownst to her, befriends a classmate that her father's illegal doings has hurt. Hermione (Marisol Nichols) is conflicted about telling Fred (Luke Perry) the truth. Meanwhile, Alice (Madchen Amick) is ready to get revenge on the Blossoms once and for all with the help of her two daughters.

Cole Sprouse also stars. Lee Rose directed the episode written by James DeWille. Original airdate 4/6/2017.
