Season 2 of Voltron: Legendary Defender is almost here, and to celebrate the big return the Netflix has released a brand new clip.

The new clip (via IGN) shows that the lions are just as effective underwater as they are in space. Well, some of them are, but even with some added mobility, they'll need to work together to take down their latest adversary, a leviathan-like monster that doesn't take kindly to people in its territory.

You can watch the full clip above, and the official synopsis for the show's second season is included below.

Working to bring the lions back together to form Voltron again, the Paladins' plan to defeat the Galra once and for all takes them across the universe in search of new worlds and unexpected allies. Find out if their plot to take down Zarkon succeeds when Season 2 of DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender premieres on Netflix January 20, 2017.

Voltron: Legendary Defender is a reboot of the popular 1980s cartoon series, which focused on a group of pilots flying giant mechanical lions defending their planet from evil alien forces. The new series is produced by Dreamworks and is executive produced by Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery, both of which worked on the popular Avatar: Legend of Korra cartoon series.

The voice cast for Voltron: Legendary Defender includes The Walking Dead's Steven Yuen, Adventure Time's Jeremy Shada, The Spectacular Spider-Man's Josh Keaton, and The Killing's Bex Taylor-Klaus.
