Wonder Woman: Patty Jenkins Responds To Diversity Concern
03/24/2016 03:33 pm EDT
New photos from the much anticipated Wonder Woman film, directed by Patty Jenkins, hit the web earlier today, and while the costumes and character reveals dominated most of the conversation, some were upset that the photo showed a lack of diversity amongst the cast.
Jenkins responded to the criticism via her Twitter account, saying "Thanks all. Excited to share! And no worries. Lots of great, diverse characters on Themyscira. This is Diana's direct family. More Soon!!"
The characters in the photo present Diana (Gal Gadot) alongside Queen Hyppolyta (Connie Nielsen), General Antiope (Robin Wright) and her lieutenant Menalippe. Four actors don't make a film, however, so I would get upset just yet. Let the whole cast come out before we make a final judgement on whether there is actually a diversity problem at play.
