Arrow Executive Producer Teases Artemis Return

Artemis fans, don't worry; You have not seen the last of the female archer just yet. Over on The CW, Arrow is well into its fifth season, and the hit superhero drama kicked off with Oliver Queen starting a ragtag group of vigilantes. Characters like Curtis Holt were added to the team, but it was Artemis who stole the show. So, naturally, fans were thrown off when the crime-fighter left Green Arrow's team for Prometheus.

But, really - don't fret. According to an executive producer on the show, Artemis is going to come back better than ever.

Recently, TV Line had a chance to speak with Wendy Mericle about the future of Arrow's fifth season. It was there that the producer commented on Artemis' return and had this to say about it:

"We have a really cool, exciting twist for how she's going to reappear," she said.

"The interesting thing about the choices Evelyn has made is that as much as she took the moral high ground when confronting Oliver, she has allied herself with someone who is even worse…She's gone from the frying pan into the fire."

Of course, fans knew that Artemis would be making a reappearance on Arrow one way or another. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Marc Guggenheim stressed fans had not seen the last of the character.

"You know, it has sort of played out, like we haven't seen the last of Artemis, but at the same time, there's not a lot for us as writers or the characters to do with the fact that Artemis betrayed them," he explained. "It happened. It's sort of over, and they've got some other, bigger problems that are coming their way. You haven't seen the last of Artemis, but in the short term, they've got some other fish to fry."
