'Arrow' Star Emily Bett Rickards Talks Felicity's Helix Chapter

On tonight's episode of Arrow, titled "Reversal," Oliver and Felicity find their roles reversed as Oliver is confined to the sidelines while Felicity pursues a case with Team Arrow -- one with great personal stakes for her.

The episode deals with the return of Felicity's old friend Alena, better known as the Helix super-hacker Kojo Sledgehammer, who approaches Felicity in a just-released clip to ask for help in taking down Cayden James, the founder of Helix, the cyberterrorism group that Felicity briefly found herself working with last season.

"I really liked Felicity's Helix chapter," Rickards told ComicBook.com. "I got to work with a good friend of mine, Kacey Rohl, who's a phenomenal actor, and I worked with her when I was 19 for the first time. It's all about the people you get to work with, so getting to work with Kacey was amazing and that storyline was really fun for me to play."

Rohl, whose first DCTV appearance was actually in an episode of iZombie, returns this episode with Alena claiming she needs help -- but it is likely Felicity and company will be wary of that, since Alena took advantage of Felicity and Team Arrow last season in order to get James -- with whom she seemingly had a personal relationship aside from Helix business -- released from ARGUS custody.

Given that John Diggle, currently serving as the Green Arrow, is married to the head of ARGUS, any interaction between Team Arrow and Helix is likely to bring some headaches down on all involved.

In "Dangerous Liaisons," Felicity needed Helix's help to track down Prometheus, and Team Arrow helped free James in exchange for the favor. The episode set up a conflict between Diggle and his wife, Lyla Michaels, over standards of justice and treatment of prisoners in ARGUS custody. That disagreement was left largely unresolved at the end of last season and the implications of the events of "Dangerous Liaisons" have still not yet been explored.

Arrow airs on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT following new episodes of Supernatural on The CW.
