Arrow: Was That Starling? And 2 More Things You Might Have Missed in "Canary Cry"

OBLIGATORY NEWS 52 MENTION
This definitely falls into the category of things we've mentioned over and over again, but the News 52 logo -- the CWverse's official news outlet, named for a DC promotional page in the back of comics back in 2012 or so -- was all over this episode.
You can see a screen grab above, but that's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
The News 52 page, which used to catch readers up on the week's biggest DC Comics stories, was in turn named for The New 52, DC's 2011 publishing initiative.
DR. SCHWARTZ
The doctor who treated Laurel in the emergency room is apparenlty named for Beth Schwartz.
Beth Schwartz was one of the writers of tonight's episode of Arrow. She and Wendy Mericle -- who currently serves as one of Arrow's showrunners -- frequently collaborate, and have done so recently on "Lost Souls," the episode in which they brought Ray Palmer back from the apparent dead.
WAS THAT STARLING?
And of course, here's tonight's $25,000 question: Was that Starling?
It will likely be a while before we know for sure, but signs probably point toward yes, considering that she wasn't arrested for murder after she attacked the mayor and instead was last seen skulking around at Laurel's funeral.
In the comics, Starling is Evelyn Crawford, a young, former member of the Birds of Prey.
Evelyn Crawford is an old friend of Dinah Lance from their time undercover at Penguin's Iceberg Lounge, and was the first member of Black Canary's newly formed Birds of Prey when she started the team up at the launch of the 2011 series.
