Common Dishes Details About George Miller's Scrapped Justice League Movie

Despite the long development and production length of Mad Max: Fury Road, director George Miller created a certified hit on both critical and financial scales. Fans loved the Oscar-nominated film enough to warrant a black-and-white rerelease of it.

But before he returned to the world of Mad Max, Miller was set to make the first big screen team-up film starring the Justice League, an honor that has since been bestowed upon Zack Snyder.

Miller's Justice League Mortal had cast many actors to play the team, including Chicago-based rapper/actor Common as the Green Lantern John Stewart. And now Common has revealed some details about the ill-fated production.

While speaking with Yahoo! about his role in John Wick: Chapter 2, Common said there are photos of his appearance as Green Lantern somewhere out in the wild.

"[We] started rehearsals for the film," the actor said. "I went to Australia. I tried on the outfit and everything. It was heartbreaking, but it happened."

Before the film was scrapped, Armie Hammer was cast to play Batman, Adam Brody as the Flash, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, and D.J. Controna as Superman.

"The script was super-dope. It was intricate," Common said. "And knowing George Miller was going to do it, you knew it was going to have that raw edge."

He wasn't worried that the film was packed with too many characters, as some superhero ensemble films can suffer from stretching too thin, knowing Miller can juggle and spin plates at the same time.

"[The film] had Superman, Aquaman, it had all of the characters really involved. Each one of them had moments and you got to know them. It was a strong piece."

With a new Green Lantern Corps. film set for release and some characters rumored to cameo in the upcoming Justice League film, fans are hopeful Common might be involved in some capacity. And it sounds like the actor is game for it.
