The CW has released an extended trailer and a featurette for Tuesday's season finale (titled, "Aruba") of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Despite being told from the very beginning that they can't go back in time and undo what they have previously done, the Legends are desperate to reverse the Doomworld that Reverse-Flash created, so they risk time folding in upon itself by heading back to World War I to make sure the Legion of Doom don't get their hands on the Spear of Destiny. But aside dealing with the Legion, the Legends will also have to convince their former selves that the risk is worth taking.

"Doomworld, it's set," Executive Producer Phil Klemmer says in the featurette. "It's now written in indelible ink. There's no way of getting the Spear and changing it. And that's when our team resolves to do the one thing that we've been told not to do since the very first episode. You can't go back and participate in events that you participated in the first time. Because when you do, you create a time paradox — you know, black hole, end of the world, doom and gloom kind of stuff. Now we realize, like, taking a look around Doomworld, it's like, 'How could it get any worse than this? Let's go back to World War I and let's try to help our former selves get it right this time.'"

"In our season finale, what we're up against is ourselves," he continues. "Now we're gonna go back and we're gonna help the 215 Legends succeed where we know they failed."

SEASON FINALE — As the Legends are about to take off for their next destination, a massive timequake rocks the ship. In order to try and fix what has happened, they are forced to break the one cardinal rule of time travel. But if they are able to destroy the spear, they will face the ultimate consequence. Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Franz Drameh, Nick Zano and Maisie Richardson-Sellers.

Rob Seidenglanz directed the episode written by Phil Klemmer & Marc Guggenheim.

Based on the characters from DC Comics, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl), Marc Guggenheim (Arrow, Eli Stone, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow, The Flash, Eli Stone, Warehouse 13), Phil Klemmer (The Tomorrow People, Chuck), Chris Fedak (Forever, Chuck), and Sarah Schechter (Arrow, The Flash).
