Report: DC Eyeing One Superhero Duo For A Spinoff Series

DC has plenty of live-action projects on its plate, but that doesn't mean the studio is satisfied with what it's got. If one report is true, the studio may already be mocking up another show based on two familiar vigilantes.

Earlier this week, news broke that Titans had cast its live-action Hawk and Dove. The series tapped Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly to play the vigilante duo, but the exclusive reports from Deadline also contained a scoop which fans are now picking up on.

According to Nellie Andreeva, DC is already considering a Hawk and Dove spinoff for its upcoming digital service. "I hear the producers also are exploring a potential Hawk and Dove spinoff series down the road," the Deadline reporter teased.

If you are not familiar with Hawk and Dove, then you should know the characters have a long history in the DC Universe. They first appeared in June 1968 under Steve Ditko and Steve Skeates. The duo was comprised of two brothers named Hank and Don Hall. The mismatched pair were granted powers by calling on powers given to them by the Lord of Chaos and Lord of Order. They used the powers to become vigilantes, and the crux of their relationship was built upon their warring personalities.

Titans appears to be endeavoring on a first for the duo. The live-action series will put Hawk and Dove in a romantic relationship with one another. The DC Universe has had male-female versions of the team in the past, but Hank and Dawn never shacked up like they will in Titans.

Of course, the romance will pad out plenty of content for Hawk and Dove If the pair become a favorite with fans, DC could easily spin out a new series for he vigilantes. The spinoff could take on competitors like Marvel's Cloak & Dagger which plans to air on Freeform. So, if you want to see DC invest more in Hawk and Dove moving forward, be sure to tune into Titans when it debuts next year.
