Could Eiza Gonzalez Be Joining The DCEU As Catwoman?

The DC Extended Universe is growing more than ever, with a whole slew of projects in development. And now, some are speculating that Baby Driver's Eiza Gonzalez, could be joining the cinematic universe sometime soon.

In Gonzalez's recent Instagram Story, which you can see stills of below, she is seen in a black jumpsuit, which she describes as the "uniform" she has been wearing lately.

While this could just be the Gonzalez showing off her personal choice of wardrobe, the attire does bear a striking resemblance to the suit worn by Selina Kyle/Catwoman throughout the DC Comics lore.

So could Gonzalez actually be entering the DCEU as Catwoman? It's certainly a possibility.

Rumors circulated in December of 2016 that the actress was sought out for the role of Catwoman, after fans discovered that Gonzalez was following - and being followed by - both DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns, and Gotham City Sirens director David Ayer. Since then, the actress has followed even more creative forces behind the DCEU, including Wonder Woman's Patty Jenkins and Batgirl's Joss Whedon.

The only argument against Gonzalez's casting would be her age. While the 27-year-old actress is around the same age as her potential Gotham City Sirens teammate, 26-year-old Margot Robbie, it places her significantly younger than the 44-year-old Ben Affleck, who plays Catwoman's most frequent love interest, Batman. Still, if a younger Catwoman is the direction the DCEU wants to go in, Gonzalez is a pretty great choice.

Whether or not Gonzalez will end up playing the DCEU's Catwoman has yet to be seen. But if she doesn't earn the role, she certainly could still find a home in the DCEU, with many fans already suggesting that she play Zatanna Zatara in another DCEU property, Justice League Dark.

Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Amber Heard (Mera), Kiersey Clemons (Iris West) and Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor).

Wonder Woman is in theaters now, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020. The Flash, The Batman, Dark Universe and Man of Steel 2 are currently without a release dates.
