Exclusive DC Preview: Batman #12

After a game-changing cliffhanger at the end of Batman #11, this week sees the release of Batman #12 from writer Tom King and artist Mikel Janin.

DC has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive first look at the issue, which hits the stands on Wednesday.

"That's so in the middle of the mountain in terms of this story. The stuff that's going to come is going to be even bigger gasps," King teased about last issue's revelation that Batman and his Suicide Squad had been tricked. "To me, the Catwoman betrayal was just the beginning."

The issue is a middle chapter in "I Am Suicide," the series' second arc, which sees Batman gathering a group of villains from Arkham to stage a raid on Bane's stronghold in the island nation of Santa Prisca.

Gotham Girl, a new character introduced during the series' first arc, is still suffering from the effects of an attack by Psycho-Pirate, and Batman needs to retrieve a cure from Bane. Needless to say, a man obsessed with "breaking" Batman has little desire to play nice.

"I AM SUICIDE" part four! As Bane decimates Batman's team, the Dark Knight must decide how far he's willing to go—and who he's willing to sacrifice—for those he left in Gotham City.

Batman #12 will be available in stores and online Wednesday, December 7. You can ask for a copy at your local comic shop or pre-order a digital one on ComiXology.
