Exclusive DC Preview: Blue Beetle #4
12/22/2016 06:41 pm EST
DC has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive look at next week's Blue Beetle #4, from writer Keith Giffen and artist Scott Kolins.
After an abortive attempt at a series in The New 52, Jaime Reyes is back -- but this time, he's got company in the form of Ted Kord. Here, though, Ted has never been a costumed hero known as the Blue Beetle and certainly -- as far as we know -- never died at the hands of Maxwell Lord, the notorious villain behind Justice League vs. Suicide Squad.
Rather, he's Jaime's "adivsor," whether the young Blue Beetle likes it or not, and the pair have to find a way to make the whole "superhero" thing work for them.
You can check out the official solicitation text for the issue below.
The origin of Blue Beetle begins! Jaime relates the story of how he came to acquire the scarab on his back that grants him his powers and more is revealed about its magical foundation. Meanwhile, Ted Kord is tied up with a new arrival in El Paso—and wait till you see who it is!
The issue is due in stores on December 28, and you can pre-order a digital copy from ComiXology here.
The preview pages can be seen in the attached image gallery.
