Fan Creates Epic Watchmen-Style Suicide Squad Movie Intro

Suicide Squad may not have received the most critical acclaim, but fans flocked to the theaters to check out their favorite DC villains in action. Those same fans have flooded the Internet since the movie was given its home release, and there have been a plethora of Easter Eggs, memes, and hilarious parodies created since.

Of these fan-creations, the latest could possibly reign supreme. YouTube user chris banks has mashed up footage from Suicide Squad with one of DC's most celebrated films to date - Zack Snyder's Watchmen.

Alan Moore's graphic novel of the same name has been heralded as a literary masterpiece in the years since it was published. Many consider it to be one of the greatest graphic novels of all time. Snyder's adaptation - which also happened to be his first DC Comics film - was met with mixed reviews. Just like his other DC projects, some felt the movie had problems with pacing and character development. Fans of the graphic novel however, instantly fell in love with the film.

This new video has taken the style of the classic Watchmen opening scene, and brought it back to life using the footage and credits of Suicide Squad. Instead of Bob Dylan's classic sound ringing through the speakers, "I Started A Joke" by The Bee-Gees covers the characters. A different version of this song was used throughout the marketing prior to Suicide Squad's release.

The footage in this video is extremely reminiscent of Watchmen, as much of it is slowed down at critical points of the song. If you hadn't seen Suicide Squad already, you might believe it was directed by Zack Snyder after watching this version of the intro.
