'Gotham' Season 4 Photo Shows A Dark Night Rising

Ahead of the Season Four premiere tomorrow night, FOX has unveiled a cast photo for Gotham featuring all of the main players as they'll appear in the new episodes.

The photo offers new looks at additions like Alexander Siddig as Ra's al Ghul and Crystal Reed as Sofia Falcone. It also shows the updated appearances of characters like Barbara Kean and her electric hair, played by Erin Richards, and Lee Thompkins, played by Morena Baccarin.

The Gotham skyline is as cloudy as ever, though the moon is starting to rise and shine some light. The beginning of the season's will be called "A Dark Knight," and the imagery references the rise of Bruce Wayne as the vigilante protector of Gotham.

The series will begin with Gotham P.D. detectives Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock investigating the reappearance of Scarecrow. It looks like Jonathan Crane will have a huge impact on the first few episodes, as his presence is already confirmed in the first two episodes.

But those aren't the only villains rising on the series, with Barbara's return from the dead thanks to Ra's al Ghul's Lazarus Pit. Expect to see her team up with Tabitha Galavan and Selena Kyle, despite the whole electrocution thing.

Penguin will kick off the season with the grand opening of the Iceberg Lounge, complete with Ed Nygma frozen and on display like a morbid statue. But it won't go smoothly for Cobblepot, who aspires to be the city's kingpin of crime.

One villain not shown in the teaser is Butch Gilzean AKA Cyrus Gold AKA Solomon Grundy. The producers want that reveal to be a big surprise.

Gotham's fourth season is set to get even crazier than what came before, with more and more villains popping up like weeds. Though Gordon could use all the help he can get, he'll be on the hunt for the mysterious new vigilante who is cleaning up the streets, not knowing that he's hunting the very person whom he comforted in the first episode of the series.

Gotham returns tomorrow, Thursday night on FOX.
