Gotham: [SPOILER] Revealed As The Newest Member of The Court Of Owls

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE LATEST EPISODE OF GOTHAM, 'HEROES RISE: THE PRIMAL RIDDLE'!

The latest Gotham dropped a major bombshell that could have ramifications for everyone on the series, especially a character we thought was one of the good guys.

Spoilers ahead so only read on if you've watched the episode or are dying to find out.

Jim Gordon has faced some especially tough trials ever since he joined the Gotham Police Department as a detective, but this season has been fraught with perils that have slowly and steadily put him on the decline.

But after last week's revelation that his father and uncle were both members of the Court of Owls, that his uncle murdered his father, and then his uncle committed suicide after confessing to his orphaned nephew, Gordon has taken it upon himself to take on the mysterious organization that destroyed his family.

At the episode's end, Gordon delivers the riddle-obsessed Edward Nygma to the Court and is lead back into their inner circle. Katherine, the assumed leader of the Court, then welcomes him to the fold.

"I'd like to welcome our newest member," Katherine says to the assembled members, "James Gordon."

Gordon then puts on his own owl mask, and Katherine welcomes him officially.

Infiltrating a criminal organization with seemingly limitless resources and the ability to destroy lives is a risky gamble, but Gordon's issues this season have put him on a path of recklessness. This isn't a stretch.

We're guessing this season is going to get a whole lot harder for Gordon before he finally ends up on top—if he does so, at all.

GOTHAM'S MOST UNHINGED VILLAINS UNITE - Some of Gotham's most unhinged villains band together, while The Riddler continues his conquest of the city. Gordon is on a search for answers and all roads keep leading him back to the Court of Owls. Meanwhile, as Alfred begins to notice a change in Bruce, Bruce 2 confides in Selina (Camren Bicondova).

The regular cast features Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/the future Riddler, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Maggie Geha as the future Poison Ivy, Michael Chiklis as Detective Nathaniel Barnes, and Benedict Samuel as Mad Hatter.

The guest cast includes Richard Kind as Aubrey James, Leslie Hendrix as Kathryn, Camila Perez as Firefly, and Nathan Darrow as Victor Fries/Mr. Freeze.
