Aquaman will swim into theaters next year, but the cast is now coming together to get the filming process started. While Jason Momoa will have appeared in two different DC movies by the time his solo film hits theaters, it will mark the first time he's joined by his underwater cohorts.

James Wan, the director of Aquaman, has now teased fans with the very first image of the incredible cast coming together. Along with Momoa, Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson join Wan for the first table read.

Amber Heard will be portraying Mera, the Queen of the sea and longtime love of Aquaman. Patrick Wilson, on the other hand, will have a much less friendly role. The veteran actor will be playing Orm the Oceanmaster. This character will rival Momoa's Aquaman throughout the film.

This marks the first time the cast is getting together as one, as well as the first time they've had their hands on the script. Now, the story is set, and production for Aquaman is truly underway.

Aquaman is directed by James Wan with Will Beall, Geoff Johns, Paul Norris, and Mort Weisinger on writing duties. Rob Cowan is serving as executive producer and Deborah Snyder and Zack Snyder serving as producers. The film stars Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Amber Heard (Mera), Patrick Wilson (Orm) and Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko).
