Joss Whedon Already A Major Part Of DCEU

Big headline's were made when it was revealed that Avengers director Joss Whedon was coming to DC Films to help build the DC Extended Universe franchise. First, we learned that Whedon will be directing his own Batgirl movie; then, following a tragic turn in director Zack Snyder's family, it was announced that Whedon would step in to help lead the final reshoots for Justice League.
Given the unusual pathway that Whedon has taken from the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the DC Extended Universe, there's understandably been question of just how much influence he will have on the DCEU. Now one of the main shepherds of the DCEU is letting fans know that Joss Whedon is already a major player in the DCEU creative team.
Jon Berg was talking with Variety about the issue of Whedon's place in the company, and revealed that, "He's a big part already. We love him. He's a great partner, collaborator; we want him to be ensconced. We bring people by, have general meetings and talk about comics and their favorite superhero movies. With Joss, he saw the master board, and he saw a "Batgirl" title and he said, "You guys seriously want to do 'Batgirl'?" And we said, "Absolutely." He said, "That's my jam."
Indeed, female-centric tales of superheroism like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, or Serenity, are Whedon's "jam." He was, in fact, once in line to make his own version of the Wonder Woman movie - a fact that has once again gained attention in light of director Patty Jenkins' film tearing up the box office.
Whether handling a female-led superhero film like Batgirl or assisting with the entire Justice League, Whedon certainly has the support of DC Comics fans behind him. Hopefully, even when he's not directly involved with DCEU projects, his creative input will help shape them into something great.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, based on a story by Snyder and Terrio, and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
