Justice League: Ciaran Hinds Reveals Steppenwolf's Main Goal

Hollywood will release another superhero romp later this year, and Justice League already has DC fans biting their nails. Following the success of Wonder Woman, pressure is mounting on the superhero squad to perform well. Now, one of the film's stars is shedding new light on the villain Steppenwolf, and it sounds like the guy's goals are truly hellish.
Recently, Ciaran Hinds sat down on The Michael Ball Show (via ScreenRant) to talk about his DC and Game of Thrones gigs. It was there the actor told the BBC a bit about his character's nefarious plans for Earth and his non-existent costume.

"I'm sorry I'm not in costume. I didn't even have a costume when I was doing it," Hinds revealed. "It's all done in motion capture. So… they stick a helmet on your head, they put two cameras around, and they capture all your expressions, facial expressions. So basically, they're going to concoct some kind of construction and they will use my facial expressions – eyes, mouth, voice."
"They'll turn into this murderous, avenging Steppenwolf from the planet Apokolips, apparently," Hinds ended, "Who's bent on Hell on Earth."
This is not the only teaser Hinds has given about Steppenwolf this year. The actor has kept quiet about his much-anticipated role, but the actor did tell The Independent that Steppenwolf is "old" and "tired."
"[He's] still trying to get out of his own enslavement to Darkseid." Hinds explained. "[But] he has to keep on this line to try and take over worlds."
If you are not familiar with Steppenwolf, then you should know the character is a member of Darkseid's Elite warriors. The character was created by Jack Kirby in 1972, and he is the uncle of Uxas, better known as Darkseid himself. Steppenwolf leads the military of Apokolips, and his unmatched tactical genius is only overshadowed by his god-like powers. The Justice League will have their hands full when they're tasked to take on Steppenwolf on the big screen, and Hinds admits the baddie's hellish plans will only beat the squad down further. Hopefully, the Flash will be able to lighten things up a bit; The kid is pretty quippy after all.
