Joss Whedon May Get A Directing Credit On Justice League

Co-directing can be a tricky thing. Hollywood has plenty of stipulations when it comes to film crediting, and it looks like Justice League will be the next film to have its directing input scrutinized. With Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon overseeing the film, fans are wondering if the latter will get a directing credit. So far, it seems as if the answer to such a question is yes.

Earlier this year, fans learned that Whedon would be overseeing Justice League's post-production work after Snyder bowed out of the project for personal reason. The Avengers director has watched over the DC film as it has undergone reshoots, and Whedon is even said to have helped write material with Snyder for the movie.

So, fans can't say they are surprised to see Whedon noted in the caption of Justice League's newest trailer.

San Diego Comic Con boasted a brand-new trailer for Justice League, and the clip quickly hit social media. The UK Warner Brothers Youtube channel posted the trailer shortly after it made its SDCC debut, and its notes explicitly referenced Whedon as the film's second director. You can read the caption below:

"Justice League – Official Trailer. A film by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher. In cinemas November 2017, watch the new trailer here."

Of course, there is no telling how Justice League will officially be credited by Hollywood's various boards. The movie is not yet finished, so the Director's Guild of America has time to settle on a credits decision. There is a chance that Whedon won't get a directing credit at all if his contributions are considered negligent, but DC Films may want the director's name to sit underneath Snyder. After all, Whedon does has a rich history with the Marvel Cinematic Universe given his Avengers tenure; Justice League boasting directing credits for Snyder and Whedon may be enough to prompt naysayers to see the film. So, in this case, two directors ma actually be better than one.

Justice League currently has a 4.16 out of 5 ComicBook.com User Anticipation rating making it the third most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com readers.
