Zack Snyder Says It'd Be "Unfair" To Still Be Involved With 'Justice League'

Justice League is a few months away, but DC fans are still reeling from the film's director shake-ups. Zack Snyder oversaw the project before Joss Whedon stepped in for post-production. Now, Snyder is opening up about his current involvement with the film, and he admits he's not standing in anyone's way.

Earlier today, Wired posted a brief write-up about Snyder's latest film. The director shared a short movie he's been working on since leaving Justice League, and Snyder touched upon his DC legacy. When asked if he is involved with Justice League any more, Snyder said it'd be "unfair in a lot of ways" to do that.

"I'm at a place where I feel excited about it and I'm happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it, and they're my family and I think they're doing an amazing job," Snyder revealed. "But I've kind of just let them do their thing."

In the past, Warner Bros. has told fans that Justice League is still Snyder's work. The director stepped down earlier this year after news of a personal family tragedy went live. Snyder's step-daughter Autumn passed away unexpectedly, leaving the DCEU visionary and his wife distraught. Snyder said the pair would step away from Justice League to be with loved ones, and Whedon was ushered in to oversee the movie's reshoots.

Fans of the DCEU have been concerned about Snyder's on-going work with Justice League, and his new comments will likely make fans double-take. Recent reports have suggested Snyder will not be doing press for the film at first, leaving Whedon to take over the gig in his stead. Reshoots appear to be winding down on Justice League as much of the movie's cast has finished their schedules over in London.

Recently, one of the film's stars opened up about his work with both Snyder and Whedon. Joe Morton, who plays Cyborg's father Silas, told Gamespot he enjoyed working with both directors.

"I enjoyed working with both directors. Joss Whedon was terrific and so was Zack Snyder," Morton said. "Zack is intense about the work. He knows film inside and out. It's very light-hearted and comic book-ish."
