Mister Terrific Villain Coming to 'The Flash'

How to Get Away With Murder actor Kendrick Sampson will join the cast of The Flash in the recurring role of Brainstorm, a supervillain and one of the "bus metas" that Barry and The Thinker are feuding over.

Per Deadline, "Sampson has signed on for a multi-episode arc as Dominic Lanse aka Brainstorm. Dominic is an affable TSA Agent who becomes the unwitting recipient of meta-human powers. Now Dominic bears the gift and curse of reading people's thoughts, whether he wants to or not."

Lanse will appear in the winter finale next week, as revealed earlier today in promotional imagery for the episode.

"Brainstorm" or some variation thereon has been the name of several DC villains over the years, including foes of the Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes. Lanse is known for his interactions with Mr. Terrific (a version of whom appears on Arrow, The Flash's sister show).

Created by Eric Wallace and Gianluca Gugliotta, the character appeared in the first three issues of 2011's Mister Terrific series, launched as part of DC's The New 52 reboot.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
