Learn More About Aquaman's Jason Momoa In This Touching Video About His Life

In the same way that Aquaman is a superhero to the many lives under his watch on both the surface and in Atlantis, Jason Momoa is a hero to his kids, and he knows it.

The talented actor has had the fortune of being involved with big name projects, but he still maintains a mysterious edge to his persona. He peels back the curtain a bit in a new video called Canvas of My Life, which Momoa narrates. It follows his journey from son to nomad and eventually to Father, and like most his career started with plenty of influence from his parents, specifically his Mother.

Her love of the arts and outdoor activities exposed Momoa to some of his greatest passions that remain to this day, something he is trying to pass on to his three kids. Momoa's an energetic individual, boisterous even, but at the heart lies a man just trying to come to terms with the fact that his kids are growing up, and that his current love of acting takes precious time away from them.

"But now, my passion for storytelling pulls me away for long periods of time. It scares me. The nomadic lifestyle that once inspired me now takes me away from the things that I love most. Ohana, my family, I'm afraid of what I'm going to miss. The laughs the cries. Being able to help them, teach them. I don't want to miss those moments. If I think about it, I only have five more years, five summers until I'm not the center of their universe."

Momoa describes what he wants to teach them in these few remaining years of influence, saying "To learn respect for our natural resources, because if they can admire nature's truest colors, then they can begin to see the beauty in all things. To be aware of those inconspicuous and overlooked details of life. I want to give them my eyes."

Fans will next have a chance to see Momoa in Zack Snyder's Justice League film, where he'll team up with Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Superman (Henry Cavill), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

Aquaman is directed by James Wan with Will Beall, Geoff Johns, Paul Norris, and Mort Weisinger on writing duties. Rob Cowan is serving as executive producer and Deborah Snyder and Zack Snyder serving as producers. The film stars Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Amber Heard (Mera), Patrick Wilson (Orm) and Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko).
