Legends of Tomorrow: White Canary Is Working In Retail In Season 3 Premiere

The cast and crew of Legends of Tomorrow hit the Television Critics Association press tour today, during which they revealed quite a few nuggets about the show's upcoming third season. While many are still reeling from the panel's biggest news - that The Flash villain Gorilla Grodd will be appearing on the show - a kernel of information about Sara Lance from Legends' season premiere caught our eye.

When asked what the members of the team will be doing when we revisit them in the season three premiere, it was revealed that Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz) will be working at "Sink, Showers, & Stuff", a Bed, Bath, & Beyond-esque store.

While this may seem like a unique path for the team's current captain and former assassin, executive producer Phil Klemmer recently revealed to ComicBook.com that there's a pretty good reason for that choice.

"In season three, they get what they wished for — they finally get what they wanted," Klemmer told ComicBook.com last month at San Diego Comic-Con 2017. "Rip comes and says 'Hey, your dreams have come true; you don't have to do this anymore,' and our guys are like 'Well, what do we do now?' And it's interesting because there are people like Sara, who doesn't have a life to go back to."

It was revealed that Sara won't be the only Legend occupying her time in a new way, with Ray Palmer/Atom (Brandon Routh) reportedly getting back into inventing. According to Klemmer, the Legends will have to reunite from a wide array of places at the start of the season.

"There's people like Mick Rory, who lost his partner, and there's people like Martin Stein, who actually wants to go home…to be a father." Klemmer explained. "So our guys are all in different places, but Legends — it's always getting the band back together. It's always realizing that they need each other and that they need this team even though they would never admit it."

While fans are eagerly anticipating the team's reunion, we have a feeling that watching White Canary briefly work in retail will be rather hilarious.

The series returns to Tuesday nights at 9 p.m., following new episodes of The Flash, in October.

Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau's authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau's capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.

Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8 pm, while The Flash debuts on Tuesday, October 10 at 8 pm. Legends of Tomorrow moves to Tuesdays this Fall, airing right after The Flash on October 10. On Thursday, October 12 at 9 pm Arrow will premiere to round out the DC roster.
