Batman Vs. Joker Xenomorph 2-Pack Revealed

If you're a fan of some of the Caped Crusader's more obscure team-ups, then a new action figure two-pack might be right up your alley.

During last month's New York Toy Fair, the action figure company NECA unveiled the first item in a new 'Versus' line, which draws inspiration from comic book mash-ups. The lucky duo to be first on this list is Batman and a Joker Xenomorph from Batman/Aliens Two.

For the uninitiated, the crossover series between the two franchises had several separate runs, both in 1997 and 2003. In the second installment, Batman is forced to face off against a series of human-hybrid Xenomorphs, which have been bred with the DNA of Arkham Asylum inmates. In addition to the Joker-alien hybrid, Bruce Wayne was also confronted with creatures resembling Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Killer Croc, and Two-Face.

With the longstanding success of both the Alien and Batman franchises, it's almost a no-brainer that this piece would help jump-start NECA's new line. The set is not currently available to pre-order, but the official NECA website says that it is expected to be released in July of 2017.

So if you're a fan of the Batman/Aliens series, or just eagerly anticipating the releases of Justice League and Alien: Covenant, be on the lookout for this awesome two-pack.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciarán Hinds, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg.
