Neil Patrick Harris Quizzed On Supergirl/The Flash Musical

Neil Patrick Harris has a hugely-anticipated adaptation coming up -- but when he sat down with IGN to discuss it, they wanted to ask him about Supergirl instead.

Harris, speaking about his upcoming A Series of Unfortunate Events adaptation for Netflix, was quizzed about rumors that he might reprise his Batman: The Brave and the Bold role as the Music Meister in the upcoming musical crossover between The Flash and Supergirl.

Bearing in mind that he's an award-winning actor, so it's distinctly possible he could fool us, Harris genuinely seemed like somebody who isn't in negotiations at the moment.

"I've heard about it, but that's as much as it has been," Harris said. He said that he has only vague memories of the Brave and the Bold episode, which he thinks he shot about 15 years ago (the series actually ran from 2008 to 2011, with the Music Meister episode airing in late 2009). "It was a fun episode; it was a good thing to do….He wears a big foot suit, from what I remember [and] the song was fun to sing, so I don't know, we'll see."

Harris noted during his answer that he had heard Joss Whedon, with whom he collaborated on Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, was involved, although that shouldn't be taken as furather confirmation of existing rumors to that effect. It would be difficult to believe that when the rumor hit that both Whedon and Harris would be involved together, Harris didn't hear some version of it -- and he didn't seem particularly sure of Whedon's involvement in the video above.

The "Flarrowverse" is replete with musical talent ranging from Jesse L. Martin and Grant Gustin to Melissa Benoist and Jeremy Jordan, but it's Legends of Tomorrow's Victor Garber who has probably sung the most onscreen for executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Already this season on DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Garber had to keep Nazi agents from suspecting his team's undercover operation by impersonating Hitler's favorite opera singer -- and that's just the latest instance, given that Garber appeared on Eli Stone, a series from Berlanti and Arrow and Legends showrunner Marc Guggenheim that dealt with a lawyer whose brain tumor was causing him to hallucinate elaborate musical numbers.

"Oh, I'd be crazy not to," Berlanti told ComicBook.com during an interview at a party celebrating Arrow's hundredth episode. "He's got one of the best voices. He actually sang for me at an event once, and if I ever get married, I'd have him sing at the wedding."

Supergirl airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. Tuesdays are The Flash at 8 p.m. and Legends of Tomorrow at 9. Arrow airs Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT. New episodes resume the last week in January.
