The journey of Bruce Wayne to Batman is at the heart of FOX's Gotham series, and as the show continues the possibility of Wayne becoming the Dark Knight draws closer. Since he's not the first Batman to suit up, the creative team has plenty of material to draw inspiration from.

That includes the first of Nolan's vaunted Batman trilogy, Batman Begins. The film acts as a true year one for the character and includes his years of training with the League of Shadows to become the lethal fighter he is today. While there's a way to go before Wayne puts on the cape and cowl in Gotham, the recent spring trailer does feature a nice throwback to that history (via ScreenRant). During the new trailer, two figures can be seen walking on a giant snowy slope, which begs comparisons to Batman Begins. In that film the League of Assassins headquarters, i located in a similar wintery locale, where Bruce trains under the tutelage of Ra's al Ghul.

Does this mean that Bruce is undergoing training there? If not, what is he there for? Hopefully, all of these will be answered in Gotham's spring premiere. The synopsis for the next episode can be found below.

Nygma convinces himself that he doesn't need Penguin to succeed and begins to introduce himself to Gotham as "The Riddler." Bullock and Lucius Fox get caught up in Nygma's mind games, while Gordon learns troubling news about his father's death. Meanwhile, the Court of the Owls reveals its next move.

The regular cast features: Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Morena Baccarin as Leslie Thompkins, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/the future Riddler, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Maggie Geha as the future Poison Ivy, Michael Chiklis as Detective Nathaniel Barnes, and Benedict Samuel as Mad Hatter.
