New Supergirl Lives Trailer Released

The CW has released a new trailer for the midseason return of Supergirl.

The trailer shows Alex encouraging Mon-El, a Daxamite, to take to overcome his fear, features a warning about what happens when you go looking for trouble, and ends with Supergirl bleeding on a planet with a red sun.

Supergirl is based on the DC character Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, who after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul Cat Grant. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency, enlists her to help protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood, Chris Wood, and Floriana Lima.

Supergirl will be returning after Kara took a trip to Earth-1 for the "Invasion!" crossover event, which teamed her with the superhero casts of The Flash, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Supergirl returns to the CW on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at 8 p.m. ET.
