Scott Eastwood Wants To Return For A Suicide Squad Sequel

Fury actor Scott Eastwood, how played "GQ" in Suicide Squad, wants his character to return if there's a sequel to the villain-led DC film.
The actor, considered one of Hollywood's hottest up-and-comers and the son of Academy Award winning filmmaker and legendary actor Clint Eastwood, told ScreenRant as much during an interview in support of his new biopic Snowden from director Oliver Stone.
"Oh, yeah, of course," he said in regard to returning if he was asked. "Working with David Ayer…the guy is a great filmmaker."
Ayer, of course, directed Eastwood in Fury and Suicide Squad and is generally expected to helm a presumptive Suicide Squad 2 now that the smoke has cleared and it looks like Suicide Squad is one of the most profitable films of the summer.
Asked about the possibility of his character having survived the explosion that apparently killed Incubus and El Diablo, Eastwood said simply, "Anything is possible."
Eastwood's role in the film had been shrouded in mystery with fans speculating soon after he was cast that "GQ" might have been a codename or a cover for a famous DC character, with the most popular theory being Dick Grayson/Nightwing.
Instead, he turned out to be...GQ. The guy who was Rick Flag's right-hand man and the head of an elite team of Navy SEALs who spent the movie flanking the Suicide Squad's battles and occasionally providing cannon fodder for big battles.
In spite of poor reviews and some not-so-great comments from actor Jared Leto about the final cut of the film, one of Suicide Squad's actors saying they want to come back is probably not a big surprise to anybody who's been following along with the narrative. Word is, the cast got along famously and nearly everyone who's been interviewed has said that making Suicide Squad was a career highlight and lavished praise on Ayer.
Sequels have been rumored since before the movie was released in theaters, but brutal reviews momentarily cast doubt on whether audiences would respond in the way Warner Bros. hoped. Now that the movie is a certified success, we're all assuming it's just a matter of time before official word comes down that Suicide Squad 2 has been greenlit. Ayer and Will Smith, who worked together on another project for Netflix, reportedly planned the Netflix shooting schedule around the idea of a presumptive Squad sequel shooting in 2017.
