If you haven't heard the news, then you better brace yourself. It looks like DC Entertainment can officially call Suicide Squad an Oscar-nominated feature. Earlier today, the Academy Awards announced that the Warner Bros. flick was in the running to win Best Make Up and Hair, and one of Suicide Squad's crew members is taking a moment to celebrate the occasion.

Taking to Vero, Clay Enos posted a high-quality photo of Jared Leto's Joker to show off the character's intricate make up. The photographer then posted the image to Twitter, writing, "Congrats to Alessandro & his Oscar nominated makeup team. Their skills were incredible to witness."

Looking at the sleek photo of the Joker, fans are reminded of the work that went into making the villain look so suave. The image is taken from a scene in Suicide Squad wherein the Joker is at a club with Harley Quinn. The erratic mobster can be seen holding up his tattooed hand to his face to make it look like he's smiling maniacally. And, so far, DC fans seem to be ecstatic that the film was recognized for its work in the category.

Assemble a team of the world's most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government's disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren't picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it's every man for himself?

Written and directed by David Ayer, the film starred Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, and Viola Davis. The cast also included Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, and Karen Fukuhara in her feature film debut.
