Alex Comes Out to Her Friends in New Supergirl Clip

02/13/2017 06:15 pm EST

Since Alex Danvers has already come out to her mother and her sister, Kara, telling the rest of her close-friends — James Olsen, Winn Schott, J'onn J'onzz, and Mon-El — that's she's gay and in a romantic relationship with Detective Maggie Sawyer shouldn't be as difficult.

In this clip from tonight's episode, Kara, James, Winn, and J'onn are at the alien dive bar, waiting for Alex to arrive with a date. James and Winn are excited to meet Alex's "mystery man," so you can imagine their surprise when Alex arrives and introduces Maggie as her girlfriend. However, J'onn was aware of Alex's homosexuality since he possesses psychic powers.

And how does a Daxamite respond to lesbians? Watch the clip to find out!

LENA IS ARRESTED – After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Despite overwhelming evidence, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe her friend is guilty and fights to clear Lena's name. Flashbacks reveal how Lena came to be a Luthor.

Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentine's Day together.

Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode written by Robert Rovner and Cindy Lichtman.
