When Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) made his way to the Earth of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl's (Melissa Benoist) towards the end of Supergirl's first season, fans eagerly anticipated the next crossover between the two shows. And while Supergirl briefly interacted with The Flash's cast of characters during the 'Invasion!' crossover, there has yet to be a true meeting of the two shows' casts.

But with the production of 'Duet', a musical crossover between the two shows, appearing to be underway, that meeting is on the horizon for DCTV fans. David Harewood - who plays J'onn J'onnz/Martian Manhunter on Supergirl - shared his feelings about participating in the crossover, as well as getting to bring his character onto The Flash.

"I am excited!" Harewood told ComicBook.com. "It's a good show that has been on my radar for some time. And I know it's got a great fan base."

While Martian Manhunter did briefly cross over with the Arrowverse's other characters in the Superhero Fight Club 2.0 promo video, he was missing from last November's 'Invasion!' crossover. Harewood revealed that he is excited to finally make his debut on Earth 1 - and hints what fans can get excited for as well.

"I haven't been in the previous two crossovers. I think comic book fans will really enjoy seeing Martian Manhunter and The Flash on the same screen."

As The Flash and Martian Manhunter are often some of the most prominent members of the Justice League, they regularly appear alongside each other in the comics. This includes The Brave and The Bold #56, a 1964 release that focuses on the pair fighting a power-absorbing alien android.

In addition, Harewood highlighted the musical nature of the crossover itself, and said that fans can expect a lot of fun between the various singing heroes of the Arrowverse. This follows the recent news about the crossover's original music, which will include a track by the Oscar-nominated La La Land songwriting duo of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, as well as one cowritten by The CW's own Rachel Bloom. With all of these elements shaping up, it's safe to say fans - as well as Harewood himself - are eagerly anticipating the episode's release.

"I think the crossover itself is going to be highly entertaining" Harewood explained. "And Melissa and Grant have such great voices. I think it's going to be a pretty standout episode, so I'm very much looking forward to it."

While Harewood himself will not be singing in the crossover (along with his Supergirl costar Chris Wood), various members of the Arrowverse will lend their talents in the episode.

In addition to Benoist and Gustin, Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon/Vibe), Jeremy Jordan (Winn Schott), Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Arrow and Legends' John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn) and Legends' Victor Garber (Martin Stein) have been previously reported as performing in the crossover. Additionally, Glee alum Darren Criss will be debuting as the episode's antagonist, Music Meister.

The crossover, which concludes with The Flash's 'Duet', will air on March 20th and 21st.
