Supergirl Season 2 Episode 12: Luthors Featurette

In this latest featurette for Supergirl, co-executive producer Jessica Quell and executive producer Robert Rovner preview tonight's "Luthor" episode — discussing Kara's relationship with Lena and the return of Metallo, a cyborg with a Kryptonite heart.

"When everyone believes Lena is bad, Kara is the one person who stands up for her and believes in her," Quell explains.

Rovner adds, "James [Olsen] — who's had a lot of history with the Luthors, with Lex Luthor because of what happened between Lex and Superman — feels like Kara is making a bad choice by defending Lena, and he doesn't really understand why."

LENA IS ARRESTED – After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Despite overwhelming evidence, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe her friend is guilty and fights to clear Lena's name. Flashbacks reveal how Lena came to be a Luthor.

Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentine's Day together.
