Supergirl EP On Superman And Cat Grant's Roles In Finale

After Rhea manipulated Lena Luthor into building the portal, the device was used to transport a fleet of Daxamite ships to Earth, hovering over National City. Supergirl is incredibly powerful, but not even she can take on the ships and its yellow-sun powered crew.

So who can the Girl of Steel turn? Cat Grant and Superman! Her former boss hasn't been seen since the second episode of this season, leaving CatCo to find new ventures. That was also the last time we saw Clark Kent, as he helped his cousin take down Metallo and was given the DEO's kryptonite stockpile.

Fans can expect both characters to play pivotal roles in last two episodes of the season. "I don't want to tease too much about how they return because both Superman's return and Cat's return are great surprises; how it happens, you'll be shocked at both of their appearances," EP Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly. "This is Kara's darkest hour. It's perfect that she has both Superman and Cat, who are these great stabilizing influences in her life — Cat, who tends to have a good handle on what Kara needs, and Clark has a pretty good handle on what Supergirl needs. She needs them both desperately because she's faced with some truly awful decisions to make in the finale and choices that affect her both as Kara and as Supergirl. Having her surrogate mother and surrogate brother there to make these decisions, it's good to have them there."

Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) grapples with whether or not to obey the President's (guest star Lynda Carter) orders regarding Rhea's (guest star Teri Hatcher) latest actions. Meanwhile, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) returns to National City.
