Superman's Henry Cavill Shares Christmas Message After Injuring His Knee

The holidays are officially here, and it looks like Superman's best friend is about to get one amazing present for Christmas. Over on Instagram, Henry Cavill is sharing updates about his holiday plans with fans. Earlier today, the actor showed off the carefully wrapped gift he bought for his dog Kal shortly after revealing he'd recently injured his leg.

In Cavill's latest post, the actor shared a video of himself at home in front of his Christmas tree. "Santa just came with Kal's present, and I think he might know what it is," Cavill tells fans, and the video pans over to show him holding what looks like a gift-wrapped turkey leg. The footage then moves to Kal's expectant face, and fans are still cooing over the puppy and his adorable face.

Of course, the festive post comes not long after Cavill shared a more depressing photo. The actor shared an image of his knee wrapped in an immobility brace while Kal napped next to his injured leg.

"Did myself an injury recently but just like his namesake Kal has my back," Cavill wrote.

Fans are not sure how exactly Cavill injured himself, but it doesn't appear to have anything to do with Zack Snyder's Justice League. The anticipated hero flick is set to hit theaters next year, and production wrapped on Justice League awhile back. Perhaps Cavill was simply training or flubbed a rep at the gym, but fans are all wishing the actor gets better before the year ends.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

The film is being directed by Zack Snyder, based on a screenplay by Chris Terrio. The cast features Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, J. K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West.
