Teen Titans: Judas Contract Movie Adds Christina Ricci and Miguel Ferrer as Terra and Deathstroke

Christina Ricci will play Terra and Miguel Ferrer will play Deathstroke in the new Teen Titans movie, Warner Bros Home Entertainment confirmed to Comicbook.com Thursday morning. Their casting in Teen Titans: Judas Contract was first announced on THR, but the original version of the story did not include the roles they'd be playing in the film.

Ricci and Ferrer are both newcomers to DC Animated movies, but Ferrer has a longstanding relationship with the animation house in general. He voiced Vandal Savage on Young Justice, Sinestro on The Batman, and Aquaman and Weather Wizard on Superman: The Animated Series.

Ricci has a few voice credits, but this is her first DC Comics-related or superhero project at all.

In Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, a new teen hero named Terra joins the Teen Titans, just as Dick Grayson leaves "Robin" behind and strikes out on his own as Nightwing. As it turns out, though, Terra is there as a double agent, infiltrating the team for Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke the Terminator. There's also a controversial relationship between Terra and the much older Slade in the original comicbook story, which ran in Teen Titans #42-44 and Tales of the Teen Titans Annual #3 by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, but it's unconfirmed whether that will be in the DC Animation adaptation.

Two images from the movie, showing off Deathstroke solo, and Terra standing next to Nightwing, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Blue Beetle (who are looking at her suspiciously) were released along with the casting announcement, and can be seen in full in the gallery below. Kari Wahlgren voices Starfire, with Sean Maher returning as Nightwing, and Brandon Soo Hoo as Beast Boy.

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is due out later in 2017. Up first for DC Animation is Justice League Dark. That film will be available from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-ray Deluxe Giftset, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on February 7, 2017, and on Digital HD starting January 24, 2017.
