'The Flash' Star Says There Are No Plans For Musical Episode In Season 4

The Arrowverse went into uncharted territory last season with its musical crossover between Supergirl and The Flash. But according to one star, the superheroes of The CW won't be breaking into song again anytime soon.

In a recent interview with ComicsBeat, Danielle Panabaker revealed that there are no current plans to follow up the 'Duet' crossover, at least involving The Flash.

"To the best of my knowledge," Panabaker, who plays Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost on The CW series, explained, "we're not going to do that again this year."

The episode, which aired in The Flash's third season, saw Barry Allen/The Flash and Kara Danvers/Supergirl sent by the Music Meister (Darren Criss) into a musical dream world (filled with plenty of DCTV regulars).

With The Flash coming back for its fourth season next month - and getting back to the more upbeat sensibility fans know and love - many had wondered how last year's musical crossover would be topped. But as Panabaker went on to say, the process of bringing 'Duet' to life was pretty involved.

"That musical was pretty ambitious." Panabaker added. "I think by the time we finished the musical, we were pretty exhausted."

Panabaker isn't the only Arrowverse cast member to shy away from a future musical crossover, with Arrow star Stephen Amell clearly confirming that he wouldn't want to participate in one.

While 'Duet' might not have won over every The Flash and Supergirl fan, it was considered by many - including ComicBook.com - to be one of the highlights of the season. The episode's wide array of songs, which we ranked here, are still available for purchase online.

Even if The Flash and Supergirl don't enter the Music Meister's dream world in Season 4, fans will have plenty to look forward to. Mini-crossovers between Flash and Arrow, as well as Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, are expected early on in the season, before culminating in the annual four-show crossover.

The Flash returns for its fourth season on the CW on Oct 10, 2017.
