New Promo For The Flash Teases More Bad News

05/04/2017 06:33 pm EDT

Like every season of The Flash, the show builds up its main villain -- Reverse-Flash, Zoom, and Savitar -- but doesn't reveal who is behind the mask right away. Throughout the slow build up, clues are dropped here and there, but once that build-up has reached its peak, the villain's true identity is revealed.

In the closing moments of last Tuesday's episode, Savitar's identity was finally revealed. The God of Speed took of his armor and showed himself to be an evil version of Barry Allen from the future. That explains why Savitar knows so much about Barry and his friends -- not only is he from the future, but he knows exactly what Barry will think before he even thinks it.

So in order to defeat Savitar, Cisco wants to use a device on Barry that will prevent him from making new memories. And based on the extended trailer above, a slight miscalculation wipes out Barry's memories.

Barry (Grant Gustin) takes drastic measures to stop Savitar. Meanwhile, H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) continues to push Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek) to design the trap for Savitar and Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) returns with an interesting proposal.

David McWhirter directed the episode written by Judalina Neira & Lauren Certo.
