Wonder Woman Director Working To Let Sick Fan See It Early

Cancer is an awful disease, but stage 4 is a beast all its own. For writer Melissa Bradley it's a fight she's fought for several years now. She's still fighting it too, and that determined attitude is something she shares in common with Wonder Woman. She's making the jump to the big screen, and Patty Jenkins wants her to be one of the first to see it.

Melissa's sister Karyn shared her sister's bucket list on Twitter, and one of those items is a screening of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman film. Melissa has been in stage 4 since 2015, but Karyn says her health is getting worse. That's why they've lobbied the community to get her a screening before the release, with the message being spread through the hashtag @melswish. It's now reached Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, who said "Hi Karyn. Want you, and all those forwarding, that I've been trying hard all week to figure this out. We want her to see it too!! Standby..."

Hopefully, fans will hear more soon, but it seems Jenkins and others are working hard to make this wish into a reality. Our thoughts are with Melissa and Karyn through this difficult time, and we hope she gets to see Wonder Woman's big debut soon!

Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is written by Allan Heinberg, Geoff Johns, and Zack Snyder. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).

The DCEU continues with Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League 2 on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps on July 24, 2020.
