Wonder Woman Stars Confirm Return In Justice League

Warning! Spoilers for Wonder Woman lie below!

For those of you who have seen Wonder Woman, you already know how Diana's time on Themyscira goes. The demigod lived a luxurious life on the island, and she trained daily with her aunt to become a true Amazon warrior. Fans are eager to see more of the mythical women in the DCEU moving forward, and it looks like that wish will be granted in Justice League.

In a recent interview with the LA Times, a couple Wonder Woman stars confirmed they would reprise their Amazon roles in Justice League. Gal Gadot will be one of the film's leads, of course - but Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright will also appear in the film.

During their chat, Nielsen confirmed she would return as Queen Hippolyta while Wright returns as General Antiope. The actress slipped in the confirmation when the LA Times asked if the mother-daughter relationship between Diana and Hippolyta will be explored further along in the DCEU.

"The mother and daughter relationship is always a beautiful but complex relationship. I think that there's a lot more to explore," Gadot said before Nielsen chimed in.

"[Wright and I] got to do more in Justice League as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can't say much, but …" she explained

Wright also piped up, saying that Justice League would provide more of the Amazons' story and history.

Of course, fans may be confused as to how Antiope can make a return to the DCEU following Wonder Woman. The fearsome warrior was killed in the standalone film when she took a German soldier's bullet to protect Diana. As such, it seems like Justice League will feature flashbacks about Antiope and the Amazons. Fans have already seen several clips in Justice League's trailers which hint at such, so fans will likely get to see Themyscira's warriors go head-to-head against some parademons.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, based on a story by Snyder and Terrio, and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
