Wonder Woman Producer Says There Are No Plans For Sequel Yet

Wonder Woman is still a couple of weeks away from release but the early buzz has fan excitement at an all time high.

Without having seen the film, fans are eager to go on a second adventure with their beloved Wonder Woman before going on their first (who can blame them?). However, those fans might just be getting ahead of themselves, or at least ahead the studio.

In an interview with JoBlo, Wonder Woman executive producer Charles Roven (who also worked on Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad) was asked if we can expect to see the upcoming film's director return for a sequel. His answer was undecided but optimistic.

"I think that she is going to have a lot of options after this movie," Roven said."

"I believe that she's dedicated to the character. So I'm hopeful that she'll be back for another one. But there is no other one yet in the works to commit to."

DC Films and Warner Bros. are already planning on large a number of films, some of which are sequels to the three titles which have been released and other original titles, including Gotham City Sirens, Aquaman, Justice League, The Flash, Cyborg, Green Lantern Corps, a Nightwing movie, a Batgirl movie, a Suicide Squad sequel, a Man of Steel sequel, and The Batman.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and is written by Allan Heinberg, Geoff Johns, and Zack Snyder. The film stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Robin Wright (General Antiope), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis (Etta Candy), Danny Huston, Ewen Bremmer, Doutzen Kroes, Samantha Jo (Euboea), Florence Kasumba (Senator Acantha), Said Taghmaoui, Eleanor Matsuura (Epione), Emily Carey (Young Diana), and Lisa Loven Kongsli (Menalippe).
