Wonder Woman Sequel Rumored To Be Announced At Comic-Con

Wonder Woman's next adventure may be just over the horizon.

Rumor has it that the sequel to DC Films' Wonder Woman will be announced this Saturday at Comic-Con International: San Diego during the Warner Bros. Hall H presentation.

The decision to announce has not quite been finalized yet but, if "all goes as planned," the sequel will be announced with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins returning to direct, according to The Hollywood Reporter. If things don't go "as planned," it could be inferred that Jenkins hasn't yet signed the dotted line.

Warner Bros. hasn't commented officially on the sequel to Wonder Woman, but rumors are already swirling concerning where and when the movie will take place and who the villains may be.

Wonder Woman's domestic box office total now stands at $380.7 million and will soon became Warner Bros.' third biggest domestic box office gross of all time without adjusting for inflation, passing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 ($381 million) and falling behind Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight ($533.3 million) and The Dark Knight Rises ($448.1 million).

The Wonder Woman movie has shown some serious box office staying power, claiming the best box office holdover of any superhero movie in the past 15 years.

Wonder Woman was directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, based on a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs. Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya.

Wonder Woman is now playing in theaters.
