Nintendo Teams Up With LeSportsac for New Travel Collection

Nerdy is the new cool, strangely enough, and people are prouder than ever to show off their gamer's pride with all kinds of Nintendo-themed clothing and shoes. Posers. All of them. For the true Nintendo fan, however, a new line of travel accessories is on the way. Nintendo has teamed up with LeSportsac to bring an entire line of travel stuff -- backpacks, pouches, totes, and more -- which will be launching in time for the holiday season.

From the press release: "Holding a treasured place in the hearts of millions, Mario's adventures have brought him to many strange places, including the far corners of the Mushroom Kingdom and galaxies beyond. Working with Nintendo, LeSportsac took Mario's passion for exploration and translated it into the brand's best-selling, on-the-go styles. These include crossbodies, totes, backpacks and weekenders, as well as small cosmetics and accessories that even the Mushroom Kingdom's most celebrated hero can run away with on his many adventures."

I have to say, all of this stuff looks pretty neat. I may not be able to pull off a tote bag or clutch walking down the streets in public, but I could sure as hell buy one of these pouches or backpacks and where it with pride.

The collaboration features two new designs created exclusively for this collection. "Power-Up Burst" can be seen on the backpack, and features pretty much every power-up item Mario has ever encountered of decades of gaming, and a few enemies besides. The "Mario Travel" print features some creative Mushroom Kingdom passport stamps, luggage tags, post cards, and other travel memorabilia. You can see that on the red back in the gallery below, where you'll find more products not pictured above.

"Complementing the collection are five additional items, including an authentic pouch shaped like the Game Boy system, a round Piranha Plant pouch, and a Super Mario Bros. cosmetic. All styles will showcase a custom Super Mario coin zipper pull – because it is all about collecting those coins!"

If you need this stuff ASAP, the collection will launch in Japan on July 19. Otherwise, look for it in the states this fall.
