Resident Evil Revelations Shows First Xbox One And PS4 Gameplay In New Trailers

Earlier this year, Capcom rather casually announced the fact that Resident Evil Revelations would be ported to Xbox One and PS4, which is exciting news for those who have yet to experience the game. Revelations was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS, but don't hold that against it – this is a full-fledged Resident Evil experience, and better than some core titles in the series. If Resident Evil 7 got you back into the series, you should definitely give Revelations a shot.

Here's how Capcom describes the game:

"The critically acclaimed survival horror title Resident Evil Revelations takes players back to the events that took place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and reveals the truth about the T-Abyss virus. Resident Evil Revelations features series favorites Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, plus respective BSAA partners – Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat.

The action begins on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship, the 'Queen Zenobia', where horrors lurk around every corner, before players head for the mainland and the devastated city of Terragrigia. With limited ammo and weapons the race is on to survive the horror of Resident Evil Revelations."

Until now, we didn't know what Resident Evil Revelations would look like on current-gen consoles, but Capcom of Japan has released two new trailers for the port. The first one, which you can check out above, focuses on action, while the second, below, shows off the game's exploration and puzzle-solving elements.

For the most part, Resident Evil Revelations looks like it did on the Xbox 360 and PS3, but the game's textures appear to have been sharpened up, and its lighting is definitely improved. Revelations is hardly a cutting edge visual experience, but this is the best-looking version of the game to date.

Resident Evil Revelations staggers onto the Xbox One and PS4 sometime this Fall.
