Agents Of SHIELD Star Calls Possible Film Crossover "Tricky"

Most Marvel fans will tell you they want to see the movies and television shows crossover. But even the stars involved don't think that's likely to happen.

Elizabeth Henstridge, who portrays Agent Jemma Simmons on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., recently spoke with Screen Geek about the faint possibility of her show crossing over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her answer isn't likely to please fans.

"I don't know," Henstridge said. "It's such a boring answer, but time scale wise – they shoot those movies and then they're out in 2-3 years and we shoot stuff that's out in a couple of weeks. Would we keep [everything the same] for 3 years? You have to think about logistics. So, I don't know but logistically, it's tricky."

Her answer is obviously one of the most diplomatic and logical versions of 'no' we've heard from actors involved with Marvel. Hugh Jackman once said he'd return as Wolverine for a Marvel Studios movie, Charlie Cox has said he wants Daredevil to appear in an Avengers film, and Falcon actor Anthony Mackie said the two worlds are incompatible.

Then there's the politics of Kevin Feige running Marvel Studios versus Ike Perlmutter, Joe Quesada, and Jeph Loeb running Marvel Entertainment and Television.

But if given the choice, Henstridge did reveal what potential future Marvel Cinematic Universe movie sh would most like to appear in.

"I want to be in a Black Widow movie," Henstridge said.

That sounds good to us. But of course a Black Widow movie has to actually exist before we get to see it.

So maybe you should get on that, Kevin Feige.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD is rumored to return later this year for Season 5, after The Inhumans finishes its 8-episode arc on ABC.

In the aftermath of their journey to another planet, Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team were driven more than ever to put an end to the Hydra organization. Little did they know that they were up against the deadliest threat they've ever faced – an extremely powerful Inhuman, Hive, who was transported back from Maveth in the body of their worst enemy, Grant Ward. The team was able to thwart and kill Hive and take down Hydra, but they are all still mourning the death of fellow agent and Inhuman, Lincoln Campbell.
