Fitz Explains How Aida Got Her Inhuman Powers In Season 4 Finale Clip

05/12/2017 10:14 pm EDT

As we've seen in the previous two episodes of Agents of SHIELD, Aida isn't just human; she's also Inhuman, possessing at the very least teleportation, electrokinesis, and rapid healing abilities.

Her human form was created by the Darkhold, but Fitz -- in the Framework -- is to blame for her Inhuman powers. He explains to Simmons: "I devised a procedure which extracted dormant Inhuman DNA from subjects pre-Terrigenesis. Being more specific, he adds, "I performed lethal experiments on approximately two dozen people -- innocent people, people we've known from this world -- Lincoln Campbell, Vijay Nadeer, Gordon from the Afterlife..."

While he's still beating himself about what he did in the Framework, Simmons tries to get him to use that energy to help her find a way to kill Aida once and for all, but Fitz looks hesitant and Simmons isn't happy about it. Looking stressed, she asks, "Do you want to kill her?"
