Wolverine Writer Teases Return Of Logan's Son

When X-Men stalwart Wolverine passed away in the pages of Death of Wolverine, he left behind a large vacuum behind.

This void was explored in stories like the Logan Legacy and Wolverines, but has since been filled with the addition of Old Man Logan to the mainstream Marvel Universe, as well as X-23 adopting the mantle.

There are other characters who have also followed in the character's wake, such as the heroic Sabertooth, turned to the side of the angels after the flip-switching event AXIS.

But what about Daken, the villainous son of Wolverine?

Daken has had strange history, wanting to kill his father, becoming a member of the Dark Avengers, starting a new iteration of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants which resulted in Logan killing his own son by drowning.

The Apocalypse Twins brought him back with a Death Seed in the pages of Rick Remender's Uncanny Avengers, making him one of their Four Horseman of Death alongside Grim Reaper, the Sentry, and Banshee. After the Twins were defeated, Daken escaped and wasn't seen until after Logan's death, when he was coerced to work with X-23, Sabertooth, Mystique, and Lady Deathstrike in the pages of the comic Wolverines.

But since the end of that comic, Daken hasn't been seen, having faced Frost Giants and Mister Sinister, but without reacting to either Old Man Logan's appearance or X-23 taking up the mantle.

When asked about Daken's possible reaction to these events and characters, the All-New Wolverine series writer only offered a hint…

Tom Taylor obviously has something up his sleeve as he charts out the future of Laura Kinney. Could we see Daken make his impact felt on the latest Wolverine—and the X-Men at large?

We'll have to wait and see what the writer has planned, as well as what aspects of the character's wild and varied history he'll recognize.
