Don Cheadle Confirms Rhodey Back As War Machine In Avengers: Infinity War

Despite the events of Captain America: Civil War, War Machine will be back in action in Avengers: Infinity War.

Some unfortunate friendly fire from the Vision left War Machine paralyzed following the climactic Team Iron Man vs. Team Captain America battle in Captain America: Civil War. However, Don Cheadle says that having a friend like Tony Stark means no obstacle in insurmountable.

"When you have somebody like Tony who is a master of tech and can create things that can get you over the hump then you can walk again," Cheadle tells Good Morning America.

Tony Stark may not be able to cure paralysis, but he can come up with a workaround for Rhodey.

"It's an augmentation. It's semi-bionic. I'm like Lee Majors, but twice. I'm the $12 million man," Cheadle says, referencing the classic television series The $6 Million Man.

It's probably a good thing that Rhodey is back in action. The Avengers will need War Machine and every other available superhero if they're to defend the Earth against Thanos and his children, the Black Order.

War Machine suffered an even more unfortunate fate when the last time Thanos came to Earth in the Marvel Comics universe. In the prelude to the Marvel Comics Event Civil War II, Thanos came to Earth looking for a cosmic cube. Earth's mightiest heroes were ready for him, but Thanos still managed to kill War Machine during the battle.
