Avengers: Infinity War May Have Just Picked Up A Thor Character

Next year, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will pick back up with the Avengers, but Earth's mightiest heroes will still be reeling from the events of Captain America: Civil War. When the Guardians of the Galaxy come in, the intergalactic superheroes will be coming off the high of their much-awaited sequel. And, come November, fans will see what damage Thor and the Hulk will bring to the film. With the full roster of Avengers: Infinity War being kept secret, fans can only wonder how Thor: Ragnarok will affect the movie.

Apparently, the biggest change could come in the form of a rather unexpected appearance by an impending Thor character.

Over in Scotland, one lucky fan learned that an actress from Thor: Ragnarok was caught hanging around Edinburgh where Avengers: Infinity War is filming now. Instagram user @fahrsindram posted a selfie she took with Tessa Thompson, the lady who will bring the Valkyrie to life in the next Thor movie.

"Thank you for the hug and wonderful handshakes - I'm a huge fan of your work!" the fan captioned the photo.

Obviously, the spotting is not an official confirmation regarding the Valkyrie's appearance, but it is a solid indicator of the character's involvement. Chris Hemsworth was recently spotted around Scotland with Mark Ruffalo, signaling the addition of Thor and the Hulk to the film. It seems unlikely that Thompson would head all the way to Scotland for a simple set visit. With Valkyrie set to take over the role which Jane Foster held in Thor's circle, it makes sense that the warrior would poke her nose into Avengers: Infinity War if even just for a second.

Avengers: Infinity War is described by Marvel Studios as the culmination of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man in 2008. The movie is filming now under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The expansive confirmed cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as the villain Thanos. Avengers: Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled sequel are filming back-to-back for a May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 release, respectively.
