Benedict Cumberbatch Says Doctor Strange Is A Very Different Hero

The addition of Doctor Strange to the Marvel cinematic universe opens up a wealth of storytelling avenues for the characters, and actor Benedict Cumberbatch is aiming to deliver a one of a kind hero that is different than what we've seen on screen thus far. In a world that has a Norse God of Thunder at its disposal, that is certainly a tall order.
In an interview with Empire Online, Cumberbatch said:"It's a very different feel, different hero and different set of circumstances to what we've seen before. It's another moment during Marvel's evolution."
As much as Cumberbatch and Director Scott Derrickson are playing up how different the character feels, Derrickson wants you to see that that difference reflected in the visuals as well.
"We felt free to go as far as we could imagine," he expands, "so we're doing a lot of things that I think have not been done before. Once we'd crossed a certain line we just kept going."
Doctor Strange is set to release on November 4th.
