Disney's Big Hero 6 has won the 2015 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The award marks one the most significant Oscar wins for a comic book film yet (Heath Ledger's supporting acting award notwithstanding). While comic films have received plenty of Academy Award nominations, they have always been in the more technical categories. Big Hero 6 was adapted from the Marvel Comic series of the same name.
This year's other nominees included:
The Boxtrolls
How To Train Your Dragon 2
Song of the Sea
The Tale of the Princess Kaguya
